The Oregon Department of Corrections at Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario, Oregon, seeks a professional to join the Release Services Unit as a Correctional Release Counselor on a 12‑month rotation. The role focuses on release planning and coordinating with community resources to support reentry.

You will interview adults in custody, explain release options and eligibility, and work closely with partner agencies to ensure safe, orderly transitions back to the community.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field and two years of professional counseling experience.
• Three years in social service with two years counseling experience.
• Master’s degree in behavioral science and one year of counseling experience.
• Professional counseling must include one-to-one counseling with full case plan responsibility.

Responsabilidades

• Interview and work with adults in custody to gather information and develop a release plan.
• Explain Short-Term Transitional Leave, Alternative Incarceration Program, and projected release date eligibility.
• Meet with adults in custody regularly to address concerns related to release and release planning.
• Coordinate with stakeholders including health services and reentry resources to support release.
• Confirm release transportation, housing and incidental funds prior to release.
