Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Reentry Coordinator to lead the Prison Outreach program in Washington, DC, coordinating with partner agencies to assist men and women returning to the District after incarceration.

You will recruit, train and support volunteer mentors, assess returning citizens for housing, and help them set realistic goals as they reintegrate into the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
• 2 years’ experience in corrections or related field.
• Experience recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of the Prison Outreach program with partner agencies.
• Recruit, train and engage volunteer mentors for program participants.
• Assess mentees for housing and transition needs; develop individualized goal plans.
• Maintain mentor/mentee matching process and ensure compliance with background checks.
• Develop resource guides and provide information on community resources.
• Support and train mentors; conduct regular support groups for mentees and mentors.
