Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and authentic Reddit Community Manager to represent Cash App on Reddit. This role requires a unique blend of customer service, community engagement, and brand advocacy. As our Reddit Community Manager, you'll be the face of Cash App in relevant subreddits, fostering positive relationships, addressing user concerns, and building trust within the community.
Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement: Actively participate in relevant subreddits as a genuine member of the community. Engage in conversations, answer questions, and provide helpful insights related to Cash App.
- Authentic Representation: Present yourself as a real person first and a brand representative second. Share your own experiences and interests to connect with users on a personal level.
- Proactive Communication Style: Be unapologetically transparent: Commit to authentic, no-PR-speak interactions that prioritize customers’ concerns over trying to solely promote the brand. Transparency builds trust.
- Use Humor and Relatability: Leverage casual conversation styles: memes, GIFs, or pop culture references, to connect on a more human level with users while still maintaining professionalism.
- Issue Resolution: Address user concerns and feedback with empathy and transparency. Work closely with internal teams to ensure user issues are resolved promptly.
- Content Creation: Develop and share engaging content that resonates with the community, including behind-the-scenes insights, product updates, and AMAs (Ask Me Anything sessions).
- Relationship Building: Collaborate with subreddit moderators to maintain a positive presence and coordinate on sticky posts or key updates.
- Feedback Loop: Gather valuable user feedback and insights to share with internal teams for continuous improvement of Cash App products and services.
- Facilitate Leadership Visibility: Use Reddit as a platform for leadership involvement by enabling executives to directly address users during AMAs, office hours, or other thought leadership opportunities.
- Transparency and Accountability: Maintain open communication with the community, especially during challenging times. Provide honest updates and involve leadership when necessary.
Qualifications:- 2-4 years of experience in online community engagement/management, social media management.
- Ability to build and execute a community engagement strategy aligned with broader brand goals
- Passion for building positive relationships and enhancing brand presence.
- Experience managing or moderating a Reddit community (professionally) is often highly preferred
- Familiarity with building and nurturing online communities across platforms (Reddiit, Discord, forums, etc).
- Proven experience in community management, social media management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Reddit's platform, culture, and community dynamics.
- Hands-on experience with Reddit features: Subreddits, AMAs, flairs, auto moderator set up, moderator tools, post formats, and Reddit Ads (optional).
- Strong writing skills tailored to the Reddit tone authentic, non-salesy, conversational)
- Excellent written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of analytics (tracking growth, engagement, sentiment)
- Experience in public relations or partnership development is a plus.
Education:- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience in community management, social media strategy, or customer engagement may be considered in lieu of formal education.
