Job summary

Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Red Cross Instructor (Part-Time) to deliver safety and certification courses that empower participants to respond confidently in emergencies. You will teach CPR, AED, first aid, and lifesaving skills, while upholding Red Cross standards in a supportive learning environment.

The role requires current LGI, CPR PRO, and Oxygen Instructor certifications, along with strong public speaking and organizational abilities to manage diverse learner

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification required.
• CPR PRO Instructor certification required.
• Oxygen Instructor certification required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate American Red Cross certification courses and skill evaluations in accordance with current Red Cross standards and guidelines.
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, coaching, and performance feedback to participants.
• Teach and assess lifesaving skills including CPR, AED, first aid, oxygen administration, and emergency procedures.
• Create a positive, engaging learning environment while maintaining classroom management and pacing.
• Set up, inspect, sanitize, maintain, and store training equipment (manikins, AED trainers, supplies).
• Maintain accurate attendance records, certification documentation, and course reports.
• Monitor equipment and inventory; communicate replacement or maintenance needs.

Red Cross Instructor (Part-Time)

The Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA is seeking a certified Red Cross Instructor to deliver high-quality safety and certification courses that prepare participants to respond confidently in emergency situations. Essential Responsibilities

• Facilitate American Red Cross certification courses and skill evaluations in accordance with current Red Cross standards and guidelines.
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, coaching, and performance feedback to participants throughout each course.
• Teach and assess lifesaving skills including CPR, AED use, first aid, oxygen administration, and emergency response procedures.
• Create a positive, engaging learning environment while maintaining effective classroom management and pacing.
• Set up, inspect, sanitize, maintain, and properly store training equipment, including manikins, AED trainers, and instructional supplies.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, certification documentation, and course reports.
• Monitor equipment and supply inventory and communicate replacement or maintenance needs.
• Foster professional, respectful relationships with participants, staff, and community partners.
• Follow YMCA and American Red Cross policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification required.
• Current CPR PRO Instructor certification required.
• Current Oxygen Instructor certification required.
• Strong public speaking, instructional, and classroom facilitation skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to effectively manage group learning environments and adapt instruction to various experience levels.
