Job summary

Sims Metal is seeking a Scale Operator for its recycling facility. You will operate and monitor truck and non-ferrous scales, verify materials, and process cash transactions while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in data entry and inventory systems is a plus.
• Ability to learn and identify different grades and types of recyclable materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck scales and non-ferrous scales in a safe and efficient manner.
• Accurately inspect, classify, and purchase recyclable materials with correct weights, descriptions, and grades.
• Process cash, credit card, and other payments and maintain cash records.
• Issue receipts and maintain transaction documentation.
• Prepare daily transaction reports and assist with loading and unloading as needed.
