Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Business or a related field preferred.
• Five years of experience in solid waste operations.
• Experience in marketing, sales, public outreach, or a related field.
• Knowledge of MDE, DOT, MOSHA, and OSHA regulations related to solid waste operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and build positive relationships with the public and community partners.
• Ability to obtain or maintain required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, Fire Extinguisher, and Homeland Security training.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to successfully pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Manage and promote the County's recycling program through public outreach, education, and community partnerships.
• Market recyclable materials and coordinate sales in accordance with County purchasing procedures.
• Organize and promote recycling events and initiatives to increase public participation.
• Collect and maintain recycling data and prepare reports to support program goals.
• Conduct presentations, facility tours, and respond to public inquiries regarding recycling services.
• Assist with the implementation of County solid waste, recycling, and emergency management plans.
