Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a Recycling Operator for the 1st shift (7:30am–4:00pm, Mon–Fri) at our Indianapolis facility. You will set up, run, and maintain production lines, operate forklifts, and manage accurate logs and quality checks. The role requires adherence to safety standards, basic math skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

• Demonstrated ability to work within company values.
• 1–3 years of relevant operations experience.
• Ability to perform basic math and calculator weights.
• Ability to read weights (gross, tare, net) and logs.
• Stand for long periods and handle lifting up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to accident-free operations and compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Set up, run, shut down, troubleshoot and clean production lines.
• Follow Run Instruction Sheet instructions and RIS updates.
• Safely operate sit-down forklift and man lift.
• Maintain production ledgers and quality control logs.
• Complete RFS tags and record weights accurately.
• Take samples and report any inequities to lab personnel.
• Keep work area clean and organized throughout shift.
