Job summary

Goodwill San Antonio seeks a dynamic operations manager to lead the recycling contract for Laughlin AFB, including collection, sorting, compression, baling, and distribution of recyclables. The role drives daily performance, safety, and compliance while coordinating with staff and leadership to meet contract goals.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree with at least two years’ recycling operations management experience, strong supervisory skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree and minimum 2 years' experience managing a recycling operation or equivalent.
• Must be a US citizen and eligible for a secret security clearance.
• Must obtain forklift operator permit and Hepatitis B and Tetanus vaccines.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office required.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• If driving, valid license and auto insurance; able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Recycling Center and oversee operations for Loyal Laughlin AFB base recycling
• Supervise Recycling Associates handling collection, sorting, bale, and load activities
• Communicate with customers; address issues, requests, or complaints
• Coordinate with Director of Contract Services on status, staffing, and equipment needs
• Oversee safety, training, performance appraisals, and HR policy adherence
• Prepare monthly disposal and waste reports; ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner
