Job description

Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as balers, forklifts, and conveyors used in recycling production.

Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities :

1. Assist in repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment; carry tools and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
2. Responsible for adjusting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of plant equipment.
3. Make modifications to equipment as needed and implement improvements or changes in operation as directed.
4. Perform preventative maintenance as needed.
5. Lubricate equipment and ensure sufficient supply of lubricant is available for the line.
6. Operate and use mechanical hand tools, shop tools, precision measuring instruments, gas and electric welders.
7. Use handles to raise materials and tools to working levels.
8. Loosen bolts to dismantle machinery.
9. Clean machines with sandpaper, solvent, and wiping rags to prepare surfaces for painting.
10. Oil and grease machines.
11. Follow all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.
12. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
