Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as balers, forklifts, and conveyors used in recycling production.
Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities :
- Assist in repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment; carry tools and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
- Responsible for adjusting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of plant equipment.
- Make modifications to equipment as needed and implement improvements or changes in operation as directed.
- Perform preventative maintenance as needed.
- Lubricate equipment and ensure sufficient supply of lubricant is available for the line.
- Operate and use mechanical hand tools, shop tools, precision measuring instruments, gas and electric welders.
- Use handles to raise materials and tools to working levels.
- Loosen bolts to dismantle machinery.
- Clean machines with sandpaper, solvent, and wiping rags to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Oil and grease machines.

- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Hiring Requirements / Preferences
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of six (6) months experience operating and/or performing maintenance on machinery.

- Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
