Job summary

Republic Services in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring a Forklift Operator to safely operate forklifts for stacking material, loading trailers, and emptying containers. You will perform inspections, organize materials, and coordinate with the supervisor to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of forklift experience, OSHA forklift certification, and strong safety and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Must have OSHA forklift certification (powered industrial truck) training as set forth in 29 CFR 1910.178.
• Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation experience.
• Proven customer service and safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of forklift and equipment.
• Load trailers safely and efficiently.
• Organize material in the warehouse for optimal flow.
• Coordinate with supervisor to empty full containers and trash bins.
• Continuously monitor equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
