Amcor Rigid Packaging in Ames, IA is seeking a reliable forklift operator to support production by pulling raw materials, transferring finished goods, and loading trucks to meet delivery schedules.

This role requires OSHA forklift certification, the ability to read safety and operating instructions, accurate data entry, and close cooperation with fellow departments to maintain inventory and safety in a fast-paced plant.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent experience.
• Forklift certification meeting OSHA requirements is required.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain forklift safely and efficiently per instructions.
• Supply raw materials to production operations.
• Print and scan Bill of Lading for finished goods using RF scanner.
• Inspect finished goods for quality defects.
• Transfer finished goods to staging or storage areas.
• Load finished goods onto trucks to meet delivery requirements.
• Complete logs and input data, including tickets and Bills of Lading.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and report discrepancies.
