Job summary

TMD Staffing is hiring a 1st Shift Warehouse Sorter for a Recycling Center in San Antonio, TX. This position runs Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–3:30 PM with some Saturday shifts and pays $13.26 per hour.

Responsibilities include sorting recyclables, safely depositing materials, assisting with line jams, and coordinating with equipment operators. Must pass drug screen, have steel-toe boots, legal USA work status, reliable transport, and a decent background.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety rules on the sort line, with end of shift cleanup.

1st Shift Warehouse Sorter - Recycling Center

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g.. aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste, or remove non-recyclable materials.
• Deposit recoverable material safely and efficiently into appropriate chute.
• Assist other sorters on an as‑needed basis with heavy or bulky items.
• Communicate with equipment operators regarding incoming loads of special waste or other loads that require special attention.
• Increase production of the sort line by minimizing down time and providing training to sorters on the line.
• Ensure compliance with all safety rules regarding the sort line; including stopping the conveyor belt in emergency situations.
• Inspect and remove jams on the sort line.
• Maintain cleanliness of facility during shift and perform end of shift cleaning Assist Maintenance Technicians during system repairs, as assigned.

PAY RATE

$13.26 HR

SCHEDULE

• 1st Shift Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Saturday (sometimes) 4:30 AM - 12:00 PM
