Heartland for Children is seeking a communications and marketing professional to lead strategic efforts for foster parent recruitment, retention, and community engagement across digital and print channels.
You will develop content, manage social media, update the website, create materials, and support donor relations and media activities. The role requires strong writing and content management skills and a collaborative approach.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication and marketing efforts that support foster parent recruitment, retention, caregiver engagement, adoption awareness, and community outreach through multimedia communications, including the Heartland for Children website, social media platforms, digital communications, branded materials and community engagement initiatives.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with HFC customers to include internal departments and stakeholders
Develop and implement communication, marketing, social media, and engagement strategies that support foster caregiver recruitment, retention, caregiver support, adoption awareness, and community outreach goals
Create, manage, and distribute content across digital, social media, email, print, and multimedia platforms, ensuring consistency in branding, messaging, quality, and tone
Manage organizational social media platforms, including content scheduling, posting, audience engagement, account administration, monitoring comments and messages, and optimizing platform performance
Develop and maintain content calendars, editorial schedules, communication workflows, and content management processes to support ongoing campaigns and organizational initiatives
Manage and update the HFC website, ensuring content is accurate, current, accessible, and reflective of agency priorities, resources, events, opportunities, and branding standards
Design and produce communication and marketing materials, including flyers, newsletters, infographics, one-pagers, videos, graphics, digital content, and other promotional resources
Develop and distribute email communications, newsletters, campaign messaging, and other electronic communications using agency-approved platforms
Assist with fundraising campaigns and donor relations management
Support media relations activities, including preparing press releases, public announcements, media materials, and maintaining media archives and records
Coordinate and execute communication and promotion plans for agency events, community outreach activities, campaigns, and special initiatives
Attending community events as needed to represent the agency with flexibility of working nights and weekends
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, communication platforms, and marketing best practices to recommend and implement innovative strategies
Create, manage, and maintain digital forms, communication tools, and online engagement resources as needed.
Analyze communication, website, social media, and engagement metrics; prepare reports and provide recommendations to improve performance and community impact
Provide graphic design, promotional, podcast, and multimedia support for organizational initiatives and special projects
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Advertising or related communicaiton field. A minimum of 2-5 years experience related to traditional and on-line social media communication. Experience with website content management and functionality. Some graphic design expericence desired. Excellent writing skills are required, especially the ability to tailor messaging to different socal netowrks. Experience with creating compelling messages for different target demographics.
