My client is seeking a hands-on Recruiting Manager to lead and develop a team of four recruiters while remaining actively involved in recruiting for critical and high-level positions across the organization. This individual will be responsible for building effective recruiting strategies, improving hiring processes, developing the recruiting team, and partnering closely with operational and executive leadership to meet workforce needs.
The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between leading the recruiting function and personally owning searches, particularly for leadership, professional, technical, and difficult-to-fill positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of four recruiters, establishing clear goals, expectations, recruiting processes, and performance metrics.
- Remain a hands-on recruiter, personally managing full-cycle searches for leadership, professional, technical, and other high-priority positions.
- Partner with senior leadership and hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
- Oversee high-volume recruiting efforts supporting field, construction, operations, skilled trades, and corporate positions.
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies and talent pipelines for difficult-to-fill and business-critical roles.
- Manage the full recruiting lifecycle including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate presentation, offer management, and onboarding coordination.
- Improve recruiting processes to increase speed, candidate quality, hiring manager satisfaction, and retention.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, hiring activity, candidate pipeline, and recruiter productivity.
- Build strong relationships with external recruiting partners, schools, trade organizations, community organizations, and other talent sources.
- Partner with HR and operational leadership on workforce planning, succession needs, organizational growth, and upcoming hiring demands.
- Ensure recruiting practices remain compliant with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
- Strengthen the company's employment brand and candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably within construction, manufacturing, skilled trades, industrial services, logistics, or another high-volume environment.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing recruiters.
- Demonstrated success recruiting for both high-volume hourly positions and professional/leadership roles.
- Strong sourcing and candidate development skills with the ability to recruit passive talent.
- Experience partnering directly with operational leaders, hiring managers, and senior executives.
- Strong understanding of recruiting metrics, workforce planning, and talent acquisition best practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to balance team leadership responsibilities while personally managing priority searches.
Ideal Candidate
A successful Recruiting Manager will be a player-coach who enjoys developing recruiters but is equally comfortable jumping into a difficult search, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and closing talent. This person will bring structure and strategy to the recruiting function while maintaining the urgency and hands-on approach required to support a growing, operationally driven organization.
