Civitas Senior Living | Fort Worth, TX | In-Office When Not Traveling | Travel: 60–80%
At Civitas Senior Living, great resident experiences start with great people.
We’re looking for a Recruiting & Staffing Assistant who will spend most of their time in the field helping our communities attract, engage, and hire talented team members.
This is a highly mobile, hands‑on recruiting role. You’ll travel regularly to Civitas communities to organize and lead hiring events, develop local recruiting partnerships, support candidate sourcing, and work directly with community leaders to address immediate staffing needs.
You’ll also help develop practical recruiting strategies for positions across Civitas — identifying new talent sources, improving candidate pipelines, testing recruiting approaches, and helping communities build sustainable staffing solutions rather than simply reacting to vacancies.
This is not a traditional desk‑based recruiting position. Most weeks will include travel to Civitas communities or recruiting events. When you are not traveling, you will work from our Fort Worth office. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Travel regularly to Civitas Senior Living communities to provide hands‑on recruiting and staffing support
Plan, coordinate, promote, and execute on‑site hiring events in partnership with Executive Directors and department leaders
Help communities develop recruiting strategies for high‑volume, hard‑to‑fill, and specialized positions
Source and engage candidates for positions including caregivers, medication aides, nurses, culinary professionals, housekeepers, maintenance team members, sales professionals, and community leadership roles
Build local talent pipelines through nursing programs, culinary schools, trade schools, colleges, workforce organizations, community groups, and other recruiting partnerships
Identify new recruiting sources and strategies based on the specific needs of individual communities and markets
Represent Civitas at career fairs, workforce events, school programs, community events, and other recruiting opportunities
Review open positions and staffing needs with community leaders and help determine the most effective recruiting approach
Support candidate screening, interview scheduling, communication, follow‑up, and hiring‑event coordination
Help ensure qualified candidates move quickly through the hiring process and are not lost because of delayed communication or follow‑up
Maintain accurate candidate and recruiting activity within the applicant tracking system
Track hiring‑event results, candidate pipelines, recruiting sources, conversion rates, and other recruiting metrics
Evaluate what is working across communities and help replicate successful recruiting strategies throughout Civitas
Develop recruiting materials and localized campaigns that communities can use to support their hiring efforts
Partner with People Operations and Operations leaders on special staffing initiatives and markets requiring additional recruiting support
1–3+ years of experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, recruiting coordination, workforce development, event coordination, or a related field
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, frequently spending multiple days each week at Civitas communities
Comfort independently organizing and leading hiring events in different markets
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging candidates, community leaders, schools, workforce partners, and other community organizations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple communities, events, candidates, and recruiting priorities simultaneously
A strong sense of urgency and follow‑through, particularly when working with candidates and hiring leaders
Ability to identify a staffing challenge, evaluate available recruiting resources, and recommend a practical strategy
Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment where priorities may change based on community staffing needs
Experience using an applicant tracking system or other recruiting technology
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to accommodate occasional overnight travel and weekend recruiting events
You might spend Monday helping a community host a caregiver hiring event, Tuesday building a relationship with a local nursing program, Wednesday developing a sourcing strategy for a difficult‑to‑fill culinary position, and Thursday traveling to another market to help a community strengthen its applicant pipeline.
You should enjoy being in the field, solving problems, meeting people, and seeing the direct results of your work.
Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, retail, multifamily, or another high‑volume hourly hiring environment
Experience supporting recruiting across multiple locations or geographic markets
Experience with grassroots recruiting, hiring events, job fairs, school partnerships, or workforce‑development organizations
Experience recruiting both hourly team members and professional or leadership positions
Familiarity with recruitment marketing, social recruiting, Indeed, job boards, and other candidate‑sourcing platforms
Experience developing recruiting campaigns or sourcing strategies for difficult‑to‑fill positions
At Civitas Senior Living, recruiting is more than filling open positions.
The people working in our communities directly influence the experience of our residents, families, and fellow team members. Strong communities require strong teams, and this position plays an important role in helping our leaders build them.
You won’t spend every day behind a computer.
You’ll visit our communities, meet candidates, build relationships within local markets, develop creative approaches to staffing challenges, and help community leaders turn recruiting strategies into actual hires.
You’ll also have the opportunity to identify what works, bring new recruiting ideas to the organization, and help strengthen how Civitas attracts talent across multiple markets.
If you enjoy traveling, connecting with people, solving staffing challenges, and working in a role where you can see the impact of your work firsthand, we’d like to meet you.
