Job summary

Who You\'ll Work With
You will work with Bain\'s Chicago Recruiting team, collaborating with recruiters, consulting staff, school career offices, campus organizations, prospective candidates, and external partners to support Associate Consultant, Consultant, and intern recruiting efforts for the Chicago office.

WHERE YOU\'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As a member of the Chicago Recruiting team, you will collaborate with a highly talented group of individuals to develop, plan, and execute Associate Consultant ("AC"), Consultant, and intern program recruiting efforts for the Chicago office. As the Chicago Recruiting Associate, you will play a critical role ensuring the successful execution of recruiting events, processes, and candidate experiences. You will interact with prospective candidates, internal stakeholders, and external partners to support Bain\'s mission of hiring exceptional talent.

What You\'ll Do

  • Event Planning & Recruiting Operations
    • Help drive execution of on-campus, in-office and offsite recruiting events, including managing invites, student sign-ups, RSVPs, catering, nametags, place cards and resulting candidate feedback.
    • Assist with and own parts of logistics for the full recruiting cycle, including events, interview days, and programming (e.g., food, space, travel, and materials) across both AC and Consultant hiring.
    • Support screening and interview logistics by providing execution assistance for senior team members with resume reviews, scheduling candidates using Avature, creating recruit records, and sending confirmations.
    • Assist in the interview process by managing interview schedules, supporting interviewer selection, taking detailed notes during debrief meetings, and managing candidate disposition communications.
    • Support off-cycle hiring efforts, including general application screening and management, referral tracking, and proactive sourcing.
    • Help senior team members support the offer and closing process, including logistics for and execution of welcome weekends (3–4 per year).
    • Support and participate in Chicago office AC and Consultant programming, including campus events, summer intern programming, and other related activities.
  • Communication Management
    • Communicate and correspond with recruits on a regular basis, including referrals; maintain incoming inquiries and applications and generate timely, appropriate responses.
    • Assist senior recruiters with management of external marketing communications with school career offices and on-campus clubs and organizations, including email campaigns, social media, invitations, campus flyers, and room bookings.
    • Provide clear, timely responses to consulting staff involved in recruiting, including interviewer schedules, managing commitments, and recruiting events. Draft and send responses to internal consultant leadership team members.
    • Respond to routine recruit inquiries professionally and escalate non-routine questions to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Administrative & Team Support
    • Partner with the team to staff consultants to recruiting events (the "event planner") for all Chicago-related recruiting programming and activities.
    • Utilize Avature for data entry, application and event management, applicant tracking, and reporting while ensuring candidate feedback is uploaded on a frequent basis.
    • Attend team meetings, take notes, schedule follow-up meetings as necessary, and work independently between formal touchpoints.
    • Monitor and proactively order recruiting supplies, including marketing materials, gifts, and office supplies.
    • Assist senior recruiters with the creation and management of AI-related tools to improve recruiting process efficiency.
    • Perform other administrative duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate.

About You

  • Experience
    • 0.5–2 years of administrative, recruiting, or events support experience; internship or campus involvement in a relevant function welcome.
  • Education
    • Bachelor\'s degree strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and organizational skills.
    • Comfort interacting with prospective candidates, school contacts, and Bain employees of varying tenure.
    • Ability to execute tasks accurately and reliably under close supervision in a fast-paced environment.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-through; able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with guidance.
    • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); willingness to learn HRIS and recruiting database tools.
    • Desire to work with a diverse and inclusive team; embodies "A Bainie Never Lets Another Bainie Fail."
    • Flexibility with hours; ability to work evenings and overtime as needed; some travel may be required with advance notice.
    • Ability to work three days per week in the Bain Chicago office.

U.s. Compensation Information
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain\'s best in class benefits package (details listed below).

Role
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:

  • In Illinois, the good-faith, reasonable hourly pay range for this role is between $25.60/hour and $30.77/hour (equivalent to an annualized salary range of $53,250–$64,000).
Annual discretionary performance bonus.

This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation.

4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date.
