Job summary

Bastyr University seeks a University Recruiter to attract and select top talent for our academic community. You will develop and implement recruitment strategies to identify prospective staff and faculty, advancing the university's mission.

Responsibilities include managing full-cycle recruiting with DEI initiatives, creating postings and interview materials, collaborating with hiring managers, and tracking metrics to inform leadership decisions.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of recruiting tools and techniques, including social media, job boards, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Process work study students in coordination with the financial aid department.
  • Assist with the development of job descriptions, job advertisements, interview questions/scorecards, and other hiring materials.
  • Plan and implement recruitment marketing campaigns and employer branding to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Review and screen resumes and applications, conduct phone screens and interviews, and assess candidate qualifications and fit for the role and University.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers/teams, and facilitate the selection process, including reference checks and background checks.
  • Provide a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, including timely communication, feedback, and updates.
  • Process adjunct faculty contracts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment records and data.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics such as application volumes, conversion rates, and demographic trends to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and inform future initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing recruitment activities, outcomes, and recommendations for university leadership and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to recruitment and onboarding, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Position Summary

As a University Recruiter, you will play a vital role in attracting and selecting top talent to join our academic institution. Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with vendors and stakeholders.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP preferred.
  • SHRM’s Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential – a plus.
Benefits

All regular employees (faculty and staff) who work at least 20 hours a week in a permanent position are full benefits eligible. These employees are eligible for health care benefits, retirement, flexible spending account plans, supplemental insurance, free tuition credits, and all paid leaves.
