Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife in Franklin, IN seeks an HR Generalist/Recruiter to partner with leadership, manage recruiting, onboarding, and HR processes. You will support employee relations, HR compliance, and internal communications while promoting Otterbein's mission and values.

Responsibilities include posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening, coordinating events, and maintaining accurate records. A Bachelor's in HR or 5+ years experience, plus strong organizational skills, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field or 5+ years HR experience.
• Minimum of 2 years HR experience.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruiting activities, posting, sourcing, screening, and supporting hiring managers.
• Support leaders to determine recruitment efforts for qualified candidates.
• Attend career fairs and build relationships with schools and partnerships.
• Provide HR administrative support and maintain compliant employee files.

The HR Generalist/Recruiter serves as a key member of the Human Resources team and supports the delivery of efficient, high-quality HR services that align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and Otterbein’s mission: “Inspired by faith, we strive to enrich individual life journeys for all.”

This role is a key member of the Human Resources team also responsible for supporting key areas of the partner and candidate experience, including but not limited to recruiting, recognition, internal communication, events/activities, and partner surveys.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee recruiting activities that include job posting, sourcing, screening tracking and supporting the hiring managers.
• Support department leaders to understand, anticipate and determine needed recruitment efforts to obtain qualified candidates for successful hiring and retention
• Attend career fairs, professional events and build relationships with local schools or other appropriate partnerships

HR Administrative Support

• Maintains required logs, reports, and documentation to support compliance with state and federal regulations
• Assists with maintaining accurate and compliant employee files and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Provides administrative support to HR team members and assists with special projects as assigned

Systems & Partner Support

• Maintains Greenhouse and assists hiring managerswith system access and navigation
• Serves as a Greenhouse resource and support for the Franklin location

Community Outreach & Recruitment Support

• Participates in career fairs and community outreach efforts to promote Otterbein as an employer of choice
• Builds and maintains relationships with schools, job coaches, and community organizations
• Supports recruitment initiatives and pipeline development activities

Team & Operational Support

• Provides back-up support to other HR team members as needed
• Assists with coordination of HR-related events and initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in HR or related field or 5+ years of relevant, HR experience
• Minimum of 2 year of Human Resource experience
• Strong customer service and organizational skills
• Knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
