Position Summary
The individual will be an experienced and proactive Recruiter who will focus on attracting and hiring top-tier talent to join our growing Research & Development team. This position will be responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle for scientific roles within Sabin, a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recruiting technical positions in the life science community (biologics and vaccines preferable), have a basic understanding of product development and a passion for advancing research through exceptional talent acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for R&D teams across various scientific groups, including CMC, nonclinical, clinical, regulatory, quality and project management
- Collaborate with hiring managers and department leaders to understand team needs and create tailored recruitment strategies to meet those needs
- Source, attract, and evaluate candidates through a combination of methods, including job boards, LinkedIn, professional networks, and direct outreach
- Conduct initial pre-screenings, in-depth interviews, and assessments to ensure candidates meet technical requirements and organizational cultural
- Partner with Senior Director, HR and the hiring manager to refine job descriptions, interview processes, and candidate pipelines
- Maintain and manage recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system (e.g., Paylocity), ensuring up-to-date and accurate tracking of candidate progress and hiring status
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future openings
- Stay current on industry trends and talent pools within the vaccine, biotech, and pharmaceutical sectors
- Represent the company at job fairs, networking events, and conferences to promote the employer brand and attract top talent
- Provide a positive candidate experience through effective communication and feedback throughout the hiring process
- May assist with the recruitment process of non-R&D positions that support R&D (such as finance, grants & contracts), if needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a recruiter with a strong focus on life sciences, (biotech, or pharmaceutical industries); experience with vaccine R&D a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Proven experience in hiring R&D teams, including roles in scientific research, R&D engineering, clinical development, and related fields
- Familiarity with the product development process
- Familiarity with Paylocity software for candidate tracking and management is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with candidates and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong sourcing skills using both traditional and creative methods to attract passive candidates
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Sabin’s philosophy is to ensure fair, unbiased, equitable, competitive compensation and benefits. Using benchmarking and salary survey data, the starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $38.46 - $43.27. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, certifications/degree. As a grant-funded organization, Sabin actively seeks funding for existing and new programs.
