Job description

Build Careers. Build Relationships. Build Your Recruiting Career.

Are you a relationship-driven recruiter who knows how to find great talent, build trust with candidates, and keep the hiring process moving?

Openwork is looking for a Professional Recruiter to join our team and play a critical role in delivering great talent to our clients. This is a recruiting-focused role where you'll own the candidate experience from initial sourcing through placement and onboarding while partnering closely with clients, account management, and internal teams.

You'll focus on what you do best: finding great people, building meaningful talent relationships, delivering qualified candidates, and helping our clients solve their hiring needs.

You'll also have the opportunity to develop your commercial awareness by identifying additional hiring needs and opportunities within existing client relationships and partnering with our Account Executives to help grow those accounts.

What You'll Do as a Professional Recruiter

As a Professional Recruiter, you'll manage recruiting activity for assigned searches and serve as a trusted partner to both candidates and clients.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage recruiting activity for assigned job searches from intake through placement and onboarding
  • Identify, attract, and engage qualified talent through direct recruiting, referrals, job boards, social media, networking, community involvement, and other sourcing strategies
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines based on current and anticipated client needs
  • Conduct candidate interviews and assess qualifications, skills, experience, and overall fit
  • Prepare and present polished candidate profiles to account management teams
  • Coordinate interviews, manage candidate and client feedback, and help guide both parties through the decision-making process
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting process and provide a high-quality candidate experience
  • Complete required vetting and screening processes, including background checks, drug screening, skills assessments, and reference verifications
  • Support successful candidate onboarding and placement
  • Conduct regular quality-control check-ins with placed talent to support retention and identify future opportunities
  • Coach and counsel talent regarding performance, professional expectations, and assignment-related matters
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the ATS
  • Partner with clients and account management teams to understand evolving hiring needs and provide recruiting insight
  • Identify additional hiring needs, skill gaps, or potential business opportunities and communicate them to the appropriate Account Manager or internal partner
  • Actively skill-market qualified candidates to the sales team to help generate future client opportunities and job orders
  • Participate in daily team huddles and contribute to a collaborative, high-accountability team environment
  • Support administrative and operational needs for assigned accounts and provide coverage for teammates when needed
What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means more than simply filling open positions. You'll be expected to consistently deliver qualified talent, maintain strong recruiting activity, build trusted relationships, and create a positive experience for both candidates and clients.

You'll be successful when you:

  • Build strong, relevant talent pipelines and consistently deliver qualified candidates
  • Move searches forward with urgency, organization, and follow-through
  • Build credibility with clients and become a trusted recruiting partner
  • Develop long-term relationships with candidates and placed talent
  • Identify opportunities to support account growth and proactively share them with the sales team
  • Adapt your recruiting strategy when searches or market conditions change
  • Maintain high standards for candidate quality, documentation, compliance, and process execution
  • Consistently contribute to placements, retention, and overall team performance
Who You Are

You'll thrive in this role if you're:

  • Proactive and accountable: take ownership and follow through without needing constant direction
  • Relationship-oriented and emotionally intelligent: you know how to build trust with candidates, clients, and teammates
  • Resourceful and solutions-oriented: have the ability to adapt your approach when the traditional recruiting strategy isn't producing results
  • Strong communicator: confidently communicate with candidates, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Resilient and results-oriented: maintain consistency and urgency even when searches are challenging or priorities change
  • Curious about people and motivated by understanding what makes the right candidate-client match
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
What You'll Bring
  • Recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or related experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and establish credibility quickly
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a team
  • A strong sense of urgency and commitment to delivering results
