Job Location: Middletown 158 - Middletown, CT 06457Salary Range: $23.00 - $23.00 HourlyPosition Purpose


Futures is seeking a Recruiter who enjoys building relationships and connecting people with meaningful employment opportunities. This position supports hiring efforts across the organization by identifying, screening, and engaging qualified candidates who are committed to Futures' mission of empowering individuals with disabilities to live meaningful, productive, and independent lives.


Working closely with hiring managers and the People & Culture team, the Recruiter helps create a positive candidate experience while supporting recruitment efforts across a variety of programs and departments.



Employment Details


  • Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

  • Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week onsite

  • Compensation: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities Building Connections


  • Source qualified candidates through online job boards, employee referrals, community partnerships, networking opportunities, social media and other recruitment resources.

  • Review employment applications and identify qualified candidates for open positions.

  • Conduct initial phone screenings to evaluate qualifications, availability, and overall fit.

  • Build positive relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process.

  • Maintain active candidate pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill positions.

  • Represent Futures professionally and positively in every candidate interaction.



Supporting the Hiring Process


  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and department leaders.

  • Maintain accurate candidate records and hiring activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

  • Track candidate progress throughout each stage of the recruitment process.

  • Provide timely communication and follow-up with candidates.

  • Assist with employment offers and pre-employment hiring requirements.

  • Support onboarding communication and orientation scheduling for new hires.



Helping Teams Grow


  • Participate in recruitment events, job fairs, and community outreach activities.

  • Assist with ongoing recruitment initiatives and hiring projects.

  • Maintain recruitment reports, hiring documentation, and applicant records.

  • Partner with hiring managers to support staffing needs across multiple departments.

  • Maintain confidentiality of candidate and employee information at all times.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions


  • Combination of remote and onsite work.

  • Occasional travel to Futures locations, recruitment events, and community outreach activities may be required.

Qualifications Preferred Qualifications


  • Associate's Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • One to three years of experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, customer service, administrative support, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and online recruiting platforms.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Familiarity with ADP, Paycom, Indeed, LinkedIn, or similar recruiting tools is a plus.

  • Experience working within human services, education, healthcare, nonprofit, or disability services is preferred.
