Job summary

The STI Group in Houston is seeking an Industrial Construction Recruiter to source, screen, and hire qualified craft and field personnel for industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, and project work.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience recruiting within the industrial construction industry and a strong understanding of skilled crafts, jobsite requirements, and high-volume staffing needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recruiting experience within industrial construction or skilled craft recruiting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial construction crafts, terminology and jobsite environments.
• Experience with high-volume and project-based recruiting.
• Familiarity with TWIC, NCCER credentials, craft certifications, and testing requirements.
• Excellent communication, interviewing, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit qualified craft professionals, foremen, and field supervision for industrial construction roles.
• Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, databases, and events.
• Maintain an active pipeline for current and upcoming projects.
• Review applications, screen candidates for experience, availability, and readiness.
• Communicate pay rates, schedules, locations, duration, shifts, and per diem eligibility.
• Coordinate interviews, skills testing, weld testing, and pre-employment requirements.
• Collaborate with HR, Operations, and field supervision to identify manpower needs.
• Respond quickly to high-volume staffing requests and changing project requirements.
• Maintain recruiting records and report time-to-fill and manpower readiness.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Industrial Construction Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and recruiting qualified craft and field personnel for industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, and project-based work. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience recruiting within the industrial construction industry and a strong understanding of skilled crafts, jobsite requirements, and high-volume staffing needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recruit qualified craft professionals, foremen, and field supervision for industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, and project-based positions.
• Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, recruiting databases, industry contacts, and hiring events.
• Maintain an active pipeline of qualified craft professionals for current and upcoming projects.
• Review applications and resumes and conduct candidate screenings to verify experience, qualifications, availability, and jobsite readiness.
• Communicate job details including pay rates, schedules, project locations, duration, shifts, per diem eligibility, and jobsite requirements.
• Coordinate interviews, skills testing, weld testing, and pre-employment requirements as applicable.
• Work closely with HR, Operations, Project Management, and field supervision to identify current and upcoming manpower needs.
• Respond quickly to high-volume staffing requests and changing project requirements.
• Maintain accurate applicant, recruiting, and hiring records.
• Track and report recruiting results, including time-to-fill, fill rates, and manpower readiness for upcoming projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with qualified craft professionals for future projects.
• Assist with job advertisements, social media recruiting campaigns, job fairs, and hiring events.
• Ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies and applicable employment laws.
• Maintain confidentiality of applicant and employee information.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of recruiting experience, preferably within industrial construction or skilled craft recruiting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial construction crafts, terminology, and jobsite environments.
• Experience recruiting for industrial construction, petrochemical, refinery, chemical plant, manufacturing, maintenance, or turnaround projects preferred.
• Experience with high-volume and project-based recruiting.
• Ability to evaluate craft experience and distinguish industrial construction experience from commercial or residential experience.
• Familiarity with TWIC requirements, NCCER credentials, craft certifications, weld testing, drug testing, background requirements, and other industrial hiring requirements preferred.
• Strong communication, interviewing, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and rapidly changing manpower requirements.
• Experience utilizing job boards, social media, recruiting databases, and applicant tracking systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
