Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program.
• Ability to multitask and take initiative.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Read, write, understand and communicate the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engagement and Life Enrichment teams in creating meaningful experiences for residents.
• Support resident participation and engagement in programs and events.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families.
• Assist with outings, special events, and community activities.
• Learn documentation and assessment processes related to recreational therapy.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Observe and learn therapeutic approaches used with various resident populations.
• Support residents living with dementia, mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and other complex conditions.
• Assist with activity preparation, set-up, and clean-up.
• Participate in meetings, training opportunities, and professional development.
