Job summary

The Bindu Institute, LLC is seeking a dedicated Recreational Therapist to help clients re‑engage with life through purposeful leisure, wellness, and community‑based activities. This role blends therapeutic recreation with direct support, aligning with each client’s goals and personal strengths.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to promote life skills, social engagement, and independence, while documenting progress and supporting holistic care in daily routines and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field required.
• State Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification required.
• 1–2 years’ experience with adults with TBI or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement recreational therapy interventions aligned with each client’s care plan.
• Design and facilitate leisure activities to support emotional well‑being, cognition, and physical wellness.
• Support community reintegration through social, volunteer, educational, and recreational activities.
• Teach and promote independent use of adaptive equipment and community resources.
• Foster social skills and confidence through one‑on‑one and small group engagement.
• Encourage client‑led choices and informed decision‑making for activities and schedules.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support therapeutic goals across life domains.
• Provide basic life skills support (budgeting, routines, healthy habits) as part of holistic care.
• Assist with safe mobility in home and community environments.
• Transport clients to activities when needed, ensuring safety.
• Document client progress in Microsoft Word or Excel and attend team meetings.
