Job summary

The State of Oklahoma seeks a Correctional Activities Officer I at the Oklahoma State Reformatory to plan, organize and supervise inmate leisure-time and physical education activities.

This on-site position requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent mix of education and experience, with substitutions for recreational coaching or correctional work; duties include equipment procurement, safety oversight and inmate supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• One year of recreational coaching or instruction may substitute for each year of education.
• Up to two years substitution with correctional or security work for each year of education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct leisure-time and physical education activities for inmates.
• Supervise inmates during activities and ensure equipment and safety.
• Procure, inventory and maintain equipment; oversee maintenance and safety guidelines.
• Instruct inmates in care of equipment and facilities.
• May evaluate inmates and staff.
