Job summary

State of Oklahoma’s corrections department seeks a dedicated Correctional Activities Officer I to plan and supervise inmate leisure-time and physical education activities at the Oklahoma State Reformatory.

This full-time, on-site role requires knowledge of recreational activities, strong supervision skills, and the ability to maintain safety and order during events. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required or substituted per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience substituting coaching/sports/instruction for each year of required education.
• Equivalent combination substituting one year of correctional or security work for each year of required education, up to two years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct leisure-time and physical education activities for inmates.
• Supervise inmates during activities and ensure equipment and materials are prepared.
• Manage procurement, inventory, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Instruct inmates on proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• May evaluate inmates and staff as part of the role.
