131 DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS is seeking a Correctional Activities Officer I to plan, organize, direct and conduct inmate leisure-time and physical education activities at the Oklahoma State Reformatory.

The role involves supervising inmates during activities, ensuring equipment and facilities are safe, handling procurement and inventory, and providing instruction on equipment care. Education requirement includes a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; on-site, with no remote work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of recreational, athletic and group work principles.
• Ability to supervise and instruct groups.
• Knowledge of first aid techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and conducts various leisure-time and physical education activities and intramural sports for inmates.
• Maintains order and discipline during activities and supervises inmates.
• Procures and inventories equipment and supplies; ensures maintenance and safety guidelines are followed.
• Instructs inmates in care and maintenance of equipment and facilities; supervises related job tasks.
• May evaluate inmates and staff as part of responsibilities.
