Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections at the Oklahoma State Reformatory is seeking a Correctional Activities Officer I to plan, organize, and conduct inmate leisure-time and physical education activities, ensuring programs run smoothly and safely.

This on-site, full-time position requires knowledge of recreational and athletic activities, the ability to supervise inmates, maintain equipment, and enforce safety standards while promoting orderly, constructive recreation for inmates and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with substitutions as described.
• One year of recreational coaching, organized sports or instruction for each year of required education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of correctional or security work for each year of the required education with a maximum substitution of two years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct leisure-time and physical education activities for inmates.
• Supervise inmates during scheduled activities and ensure equipment and materials are in place.
• Handle procurement, inventory, and maintenance of equipment; enforce safety standards.
