Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is hiring a Recreation Therapy Aide in New Jersey. You will support residents with engaging recreational activities, manage program spaces, coordinate trips, and assist in transporting residents to events.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, resident well-being, and collaboration with the care team. Required is a high school diploma with Heart Saver CPR/AED certification; 1 year in a long-term care setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a Long-Term Care setting preferred.
• Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide recreational activities per Director/Assistant Director; help plan monthly activities.
• Lead programs in activity zones to meet resident needs.
• Document resident attendance in records and coordinate community trips.
• Assist in transporting residents to activities and setting up activity areas.
• Create a homelike environment and decorate for seasonal/holiday observances.
