Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Recreation Therapy Aide to lead groups and individual activities for long-term care residents. You’ll set up spaces, document attendance, and coordinate community trips as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a High School Diploma and CPR/AED certification. One year of LTC experience is preferred, with English proficiency; Korean language skills are a plus. Salary is $18.14 per hour with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR/AED certification required.
• One year experience in a long term care setting preferred.
• Practical skill set in crafts, recreation/sports.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• English speaking/writing as required; second language helpful.

Responsibilities

• Conduct activity/recreation groups and individual interventions for Long Term Care residents as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Provide activities aligned with the monthly calendar and contribute to the activities schedule.
• Lead programs using activity zones to meet residents' needs.
• Set up activity areas and assist in transporting residents to activities.
• Document resident attendance in established records; coordinate community trips.
