Qualifications

• Education requires 60 semester hours with 18+ hours in health, PE, recreation, fine arts or therapeutic recreation.
• Two years of related health/physical education/recreation/fine arts experience may substitute for the required education.
• Certification as a CTRS or APC may substitute for the required education.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, plan, and conduct recreation therapy programs for patients.
• Provide functional skills classes and substitute coverage, including evening and weekend activity coverage.
• Conduct rehab assessments and participate as a unit team member as needed.
• May oversee special events involving volunteers and outside groups.

Education

60 semester hours in health/physical education/recreation

2 years related experience substitute education

CTRS or APC certification substitute for education
