Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a part-time Recreation Therapist 2 to provide therapeutic recreational services to patients with complex conditions in a hospital setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and modify programs and supervise therapy students and volunteers as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include leading activities in and outside the hospital, coordinating with physicians and staff, and ensuring inclusive participation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Therapeutic Recreation program or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and modify recreation therapy services.
• Experience supervising therapy students and volunteers an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex assessments of patients and plan/implement therapy plans of care.
• Facilitate social, cognitive, emotional and physical functional improvements.
• Instruct patients in adapting to recreational and community environments.
• Organize and lead therapy activities inside and outside the hospital.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to tailor therapy programs.
• Supervise recreation therapy students/volunteers and provide feedback.
