Job summary

The Monarch at Brooklyn Rehab and Nursing Center, operated by CareRite Centers, LLC, is seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our growing team.

The role focuses on planning and directing group and individual recreation activities for residents, with emphasis on therapy objectives and patient engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years working with frail or elderly population.
• Two years' experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services.
• Working knowledge of physical, psychosocial and behavioral needs of the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct group and individual recreation programs as assigned by the Director of Recreation.
• Document program attendance and participation.
• Facilitate independent activities for residents.
• Assist residents to and from recreation programs.
• All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Recreation.
• Work as part of the care plan team in determining therapeutic objectives and goals.
• Create patient-specific care plans.
• Other duties as required.

• Other duties as required

Recreation Therapist Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years working with the frail or elderly population.
• Two years' experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services.
• Working knowledge of physical, psycosocial and behavioral needs of the elderly population.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is a plus

Shift Needs: Part Time and Per Diem

Pay Rate: Up to $23.88 an hour (based on experience)
