Job summary

Highland Care Center in New York is seeking a Recreation Supervisor to lead activities for residents, provide in-room activities and one-on-one visits for those unable to attend daily events.

You will create monthly calendars, participate in care plan meetings, develop and organize activities to meet therapeutic needs, and coordinate event support as needed. High school diploma or GED and 1 year related experience required; weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year related experience.
• Knowledge of aging process and various resident activities.
• Ability to assume leadership role in absence of Director.
• Be able to work rotating weekends and holidays.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in room activities and 1:1 visit for residents who cannot attend daily events.
• Create a monthly calendar and attend care plan meetings.
• Develop, organize and implement activities to meet the therapeutic needs of residents.
• Coordinate assistance for events as necessary.
