Job summary

Management & Training Corporation in Woodville, MS is seeking a recreation/program coordinator to provide structured recreation and avocation activities for inmates while ensuring ACA, MTC and MDOC directives are followed. You will supervise recreation instruction and coordinate with counselors to promote positive behavioral change.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience, plus a valid Mississippi driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and 2 years related experience.
• Valid driver’s license in Mississippi with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the instruction of inmates in recreation activities.
• Monitor counseling and motivation of inmates regarding behavior and work habits.
• Develop and deliver recreation activities including arts, sports, and special programs.
• Monitor development and distribute weekly, monthly and annual recreation plans and schedules.
• Manage equipment use, upkeep, and minor repairs; suggest purchases.
• Provide information on scheduled activities and promote positive social skills.
• Maintain accountability of staff, offenders and property; adhere to safety practices.
