A nonprofit organization dedicated to youth mental health recovery seeks a Seasonal Recreation Specialist – Assistant Coach for a part-time position. The Asian Pacific Clinic seeks a passionate and energetic Seasonal Recreation Specialist – Assistant Coach to join our multidisciplinary team supporting youth mental health recovery through movement, mindfulness, and recreation. This part-time (up to 8 hours/week) seasonal role runs from July–August, focusing on engaging youth, many of whom face serious mental health challenges, in soccer/futsal-based activities that foster confidence, resilience, and wellness. The Assistant Coach will collaborate with a Clinician and Health Navigator to plan and lead activities, promote positive peer interactions, manage minor conflicts, and support recreational programming through our partnership with Aurora Public Schools. Candidates should have experience working with youth, a strong understanding of soccer/futsal, and the physical ability to lead warmups, run, kick, jump, and lift up to 20 lbs.
Term-Limited Position. This part-time, seasonal role is funded by the Aurora Public School grant & FUTSOL program for Afghan Youth, with an expected end date of August 31, 2025 (longer if funding extends).
Schedule. This position is fully onsite at the Futsol field for approximately 6-8 hours per week. The tentative schedule is Friday 4-5:30 pm plus post-debrief and Sunday 9-10:30 am plus post-debrief (schedule subject to change).
Salary.
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. The rate depends on language requirements and the candidate's fluency.
Employees receive bi-weekly earnings, equivalent to 10% of their base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum of $6,000 per year. The annual maximum is prorated based on FTE.

Vaccinations and TB Test.
All employees must receive an annual flu shot and present a negative TB test before starting. Proof is required on the first day. Medical or religious exemptions can be requested.
