Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required; some college coursework in recreation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in recreation, event support, customer service, or similar field.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on program needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; experience with recreation software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Coordinators with organizing and operating athletic leagues, special events, cultural programs, and camps.
• Serve as a lead on-site staff for smaller events or programs.
• Perform participant check-ins, assist with registration, and maintain accurate records.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and resolve minor issues from participants and the public.
• Set up and break down equipment, materials, and facilities for programs and events.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during activities.
• Provide guidance and support to Program Support Specialist I staff and volunteers as needed.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of promotional materials (flyers, social media content, etc.).
• Complete reports, attendance logs, and incident documentation as required.
