City of Chandler is seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator for Aquatics in Chandler, AZ. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits and a strong focus on customer service and team collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or a related field.
  • 3 years' experience in recreation services or a related field, including 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • StarGuard Lifeguarding Certification within 90 days of hire or promotion.
  • Starfish Swim Instructor Certification and an Aquatic Facility Operators (AFO) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in programming and facility management, customer and employee relations, and prioritizing daily work assignments.
  • Perform daily duties efficiently within the Recreation Aquatics program.

Job description

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as aRecreation Program Coordinator - Aquatics. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Nights, Weekends, and Holidays are worked as needed during peak season operations.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Minimum qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or a related field; and
  • 3 years' experience in recreation services or a related field, including 1 year of supervisory experience; and

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
