Job summary

The City of Round Rock, TX is seeking a Coordinator - Recreation Program to create, implement, and manage recreational programs at facilities citywide, with primary focus on the Allen R. Baca Center for Senior and Community Activities.

You will develop high-quality programs for Active Adults 50+, align offerings with community needs and departmental goals, and stay current on trends in senior recreation, wellness, and enrichment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience in recreational program coordination or Active Adult programming.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Leads assigned program staffing, including interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising employees.
• Researches, screens, and coordinates vendors, contractors, and partner agencies to enhance program offerings for Active Adults.
• Develops and maintains program schedules while overseeing promotion, outreach, and advertising for assigned programs and events.
• Manages logistics for special events, including procurement of supplies, set-up and clean-up, and recruitment of volunteers.
• Performs administrative duties such as designing and distributing program evaluations, creating flyers, compiling registration documents, and preparing revenue reports.
• Assists with the development, monitoring, and maintenance of program budgets.
• Stays current on industry best practices, trends, and innovations in senior and community recreational programming.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Baca Center for Senior and Community Activities. This position specializes in developing and delivering high-quality programs, services, and events for Active Adults ages 50+.

The Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring programming meets community needs, aligns with departmental goals, and reflects current trends in senior recreation, wellness, and enrichment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
