Job summary

Santa Rosa Rancheria in Lemoore, CA is seeking a Recreation Program Assistant Supervisor to oversee youth and adult recreation activities at the tribal community center. The role requires supervisory experience and delivery of indoor/outdoor programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in liberal arts, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Sociology, or closely related field with two years of supervisory experience in recreation; or four years of experience in recreation with supervisory responsibility.
• Must be insurable with carrier and maintain coverage.
• Must obtain a Class B License (15‑Passenger Van) within 90 days and maintain it.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and implementation of indoor/outdoor recreation activities for youth and adults at the tribal community center facility.
• Maintain and inventory supplies and materials for activities.
• Order equipment and supplies with director's approval.
• Assist staff with activities and supervise to ensure safety and order.
• Transport participants to events and adhere to vehicle policies.

Position to be Filled:Program Assistant Supervisor

Required Qualifications/Essential Duties:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; and
• One of the following:
  • Associate’s degree in liberal arts, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Sociology, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of experience working with youth and adults in a recreation setting, including supervisory experience; OR
  • Four (4) years of experience working with youth and adults in a recreation setting, including supervisory experience.
• Must be insurable through companies’ carrier and maintain throughout employment- Required;
• Must obtain a Class B License( 15 –Passenger Van) within the 90 day introductory period and maintain throughout employment- Required;
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification and maintain throughout employment- Required or able to obtain within 90 day introductory period;
• Coordinates the planning an implementation of variety of recreational indoor/outdoor program activities for youth and adults at the tribal community center Facility;
• Maintain and Inventory of all supplies and materials for indoor/outdoor activities;
• Order equipment and supplies with directors’ approval;
• Assist the staff with activities from time to time as needed;
• Encourage appropriate behavior from all who participate at the center or outings ;
• Documents and Maintain records of incident reports as needed for parents and Recreation Director;
• Delegate duties for general organization of supplies, equipment, and light cleaning of Recreations Multi-Purpose/Universal Game, Video, Teen, Kids Rooms, Vans and any other designated area in the course of an activity or project;
• Transport to and from events ,outings and program;Follow policy and procedures for use of vehicles for transportation of youth and adult program participants;
• Train and support staff and provide constructive criticisms an coaching as needed;
• Write and develop job performances, weekly staff meetings, and monthly safety meetings;
• Perform other related duties as deemed necessary;
• Drive company vehicles or personal vehicle to conduct business on behalf of the Recreation Department.
