Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions seeks a dedicated Recreation Coordinator to plan and organize recreational activities for detainees. You will coach all athletic teams, oversee competitions, ensure safe use of equipment, and maintain records in the recreation department.

The role requires a high school diploma, with a degree in Physical Education or related field highly desirable. Prior experience with inmate populations or physical education programs is a plus; valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly safety training to recreation orderlies and clerks.

• Maintain and schedule the repair of recreation equipment.

Competencies Required:

However, a degree in Physical Education, Recreational Therapy, or any field related to that is highly desirable. Experience working with prisoner populations or in a physical education program is also an asset.
