In this role, you'll help lead and support a variety of activities- such as group fitness classes, social activities, organized walks, and sports for adults and youth with diverse abilities. We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, compassionate, and enjoys working with people. Experience is helpful, but a positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to learn are just as important. Key Responsibilities

• Contributes to the success and continuous improvement of recreation programs; assists with leading programs and activities suitable for the participants; displays intermediate knowledge and skill while assisting and at times leading participants in recreation programs; works to understand concerns of participants, either addressing or relaying concern to the appropriate party.
• Provides excellent customer service; demonstrates ability to assist or resolve many participant concerns, questions and feedback; effectively communicates with participants, co-workers and supervisors.
• Aides in creating and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment for participants and other staff; ensures program area is properly set up and cleaned up after activity.
• Assists with maintaining a safe activity environment; observes participants offering assistance when needed; ensures equipment and supplies are used correctly; documents supply levels and any equipment not functioning correctly for prompt response by management.

Qualifications

• Experience: Two years of experience working in the recreation industry or other relevant area is required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Licenses & Certifications

• First Aid and CPR certification required- training provided.
• Other applicable certifications for specific program focus may be required.
• A valid driver's license and favorable driving record is preferred.
