Job summary

The City of Olathe is seeking a part-time Recreation Leader II to join our Adaptive Recreation program. You will help lead and support activities such as fitness classes, social events, walks, and sports for adults and youth with diverse abilities.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to inclusion. Two years of recreation experience and First Aid/CPR certification are required; a valid driver’s license is preferred. Hours vary by week and season.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in recreation or related area required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a range of recreation programs for participants.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with participants and staff.
• Maintain a welcoming, safe environment and proper program setup.
• Monitor equipment and supplies and report issues promptly.
