The Town of Parker is seeking an enthusiastic recreation programs instructor to plan and supervise youth sports, enrichment classes, and aquatic-related activities. You will guide sessions, ensure safety, and coordinate with staff to deliver engaging experiences for participants of all ages.
Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, adapting activities for accessibility, and leading events such as swim meets.
Under general supervision, this position plans, instructs, and supervises a variety of recreational programs, including youth sports, therapeutic activities, swimming, and enrichment classes.

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
One (1) year of relevant experience teaching, coaching, or recreational programming is preferred.
Possession of or the ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification within thirty (30) days of hire.

Requires frequent use of general supplies and program and classroom equipment including but not limited to items such as arts and crafts materials, games, scoreboards, whistles, various sports gear and specialized equipment needed for therapeutic recreation and/or adaptive activities.
Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Swim Coach and CARA Swim Coach requires regular swimming. Ice Skating Instructor requires regular ice skating. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision. Requires hearing abilities necessary to maintain a safe, responsive environment, particularly in outdoor or noisy recreational settings.
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled environment or outdoor s. E mployees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.
