The Town of Parker seeks energetic staff to plan, instruct, and supervise diverse recreational programs for youth and adults. Responsibilities include coaching, creating accessible activities, and coordinating staff during events.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in teaching or recreation, and required CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire; AED within 90 days. Pre-employment background check required.
Under general supervision, this position plans, instructs, and supervises a variety of recreational programs, including youth sports, therapeutic activities, swimming, and enrichment classes.

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by two (2) years of experience teaching, coaching, or recreational programming and the ability to demonstrate sport-specific skills and performance techniques.
Experience in youth sports, aquatics, or therapeutic recreation is preferred.
Possession of or the ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
Possession of or the ability to obtain an AED certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
Minimum, Additional Qualification – Sports Coaches
Completion of concussion recognition training within ninety (90) days of hire and the ability to renew annually.

Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision. Requires hearing abilities necessary to maintain a safe, responsive environment, particularly in outdoor or noisy recreational settings.
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled environment or outdoor. Employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.
