Job summary

The National Park Service at Dinosaur National Monument is seeking a Recreation Fee Technician to support fee collection, entry processing, and related revenue operations. You will operate POS systems, assist visitors, and help implement new fee procedures under supervision.

The role involves standing, lifting, and field duties in varied weather conditions, with development potential up to full performance level.

Qualifications

• This position does not allow substituting education for experience.

Responsibilities

• Front-line, uniformed representative answering visitor questions and explaining recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession services, campground availability, and hiking trails.
• Operates an electronic cash register, POS system to conduct financial transactions, including opening/closing functions and issuing entrance receipts, tickets, permits.
• Assists fee supervisor and higher-level fee managers in implementing new fee systems and procedures; provides training on fee processes and software.
• Tests reservation system functionality in automated reservation systems such as Recreation.gov and approves/denies refunds.
• Acts as technical authority for resolution of difficult problems related to collection, remittance, and deposit of fee revenue.
