Job summary

Lancaster County is seeking a dedicated custodian to support recreation facilities. Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of custodial and grounds maintenance tasks to keep buildings clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors and staff.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, trash sanitation, restroom cleaning, and operating custodial equipment. You'll contribute to a tidy environment while following safety guidelines and reporting needed repairs to the Facility Manager.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with cleaning methods, tools, and chemicals, including their safe usage.
• Basic maintenance skills and ability to identify facility repair needs.
• Attention to detail and ability to organize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department buildings and offices in a clean, orderly condition according to prescribed standards.
• Perform custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash sanitation, and restroom cleaning.
• Clean the outside property and post safety signs to ensure public safety.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to the Facility Manager or Supervisor.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment such as floor machines and carpet cleaners.
