Job Summary

The Recreation Facility Assistant’s main duties lie in the management and execution of the policies and procedures of the Baker Family Fitness Center and Looney Complex as set forth and regulated by Missouri Western State University (MoWest).

• Validating MoWest ID’s and memberships upon arrival through the Banner system


• Administering and checking required facility paperwork (i.e. assisting with record-keeping)


• Enforcing policies and procedures to patrons specific to assigned location


• Maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities


• Tracking equipment inventory through the Banner system


• All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• MoWest Student


• Degree Seeking


• At least an overall 2.0 GPA


• Enrolled at least part-time (6 hours)


• May need to qualify for Federal Work Study


• Must be able to lift or push a minimum of 45 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors; or a strong background in computer science, video games, or management.


• Currently CPR / AED certified.
