Job summary

Genesis Administrative Services LLC is hiring a Recreation Director to develop, implement and supervise nursing center activities with the goal of improving patient and resident quality of life.

You will report to the Nursing Home Administrator, plan programs, lead staff and volunteers, maintain documentation, manage budgets, and build strong relationships with families and the community while leveraging community resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in therapeutic recreation preferred or completion of NAAP/NCCAP Basic and Advanced Management Course for Activity Professionals.
• Certification by ADC or CTRS per governing agencies.
• Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program within last 5 years; health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to Nursing Home Administrator.
• Plan individual and group programs in accordance with patient/residents’ needs, preferences, interests, abilities, and treatment goals/interventions.
• Lead, guide and direct recreation staff and volunteers.
• Maintain required documentation; participate in budget planning.
• Develop positive relationships with patient/resident’s family and the community.
• Use community resources to create or enhance recreation programs.

Skills
