Job summary

Genesis seeks a Recreation Director to develop, implement, and supervise recreation services at our nursing center, aiming to improve residents' quality of life. You will report to the Nursing Home Administrator and lead staff and volunteers in person-centered activities.

Responsibilities include program planning, documentation, budgeting input, and community engagement to enhance resident well-being and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in therapeutic recreation preferred or completion of NAAP/NCCAP Basic and Advanced Management Course for Activity Professionals.
• Certification in accordance with regulatory agencies by ADC or CTRS.
• Two years' experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to Nursing Home Administrator.
• Plan individual and group programs in accordance with patient/residents' needs, preferences, interests, abilities, and treatment goals.
• Lead, guide and direct recreation staff and volunteers.
• Maintain required documentation; participate in budget planning.
• Develop positive relationships with patient/resident's family and the community.
• Use community resources to create or enhance recreation programs.

Education

Bachelor degree in therapeutic recreation

ADC/CTRS Certification

Two years' experience in social/recreational program
